Community Care

We Are As We Practice and Practice Creates Possibilities

Welcome to a space where we practice loving boundaries, deep listening, compassionate accountability, and acceptance. In this space we take responsibility for how we be in relationship to other beings and the world around us. This is a space that recognizes gentle self discipline as a form of self love and self care as community care.
Welcome to a space where we learn together and teach each other. A space we are each called into at just the right moment, and no one is ever ahead of the other. This is a space for healing and grieving and celebrating. It is a space to honor all that is lost and all of the blessings that swirl around and within those losses.
Welcome to a space where we practice to transform ourselves, knowing that this is the necessary first step in the larger transformation of community and the world around us. In this space we ask questions, and rarely find immediate answers. We welcome curiosity here, and we value the disruption of "business as usual".
Welcome to the lost and the lonely, the seeking and the found. Welcome to the confused and the contemplative, the grounded and the overwhelmed. This is a space for all those who want to practice patience and understanding. In this space we practice to understand and dismantle the culture of racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, colonialism, and capitalism that we have all been indoctrinated into, and how it is expressed and experienced by each of us.
Welcome to the trans and queer folks. Welcome to the BIPOC folks. Welcome to the weirdos, queerdos, anarchists, activists, community organizers, community care advocates, healers, addicts, parents, elders, youngers, caregivers, death care workers, abolitionists, disruptors, questioners, change makers, wanderers, writers, storytellers, builders, artists, and cat lovers. And welcome to all of those who love us even if you don't quite understand us. In this space we recognize that acceptance does not require understanding.
Welcome to a space where you are always encouraged to hold yourself, each other (including me), and the collective accountable with compassion. To ask difficult or uncomfortable questions and invite the examination of motives. Welcome to a space that we hold together, and humbly make amends when we misstep. Welcome to a living, breathing practice. One in which our very best is simply to continue to practice with gentle consistency.

Community Care

Learning and sharing together within the container of sacred community is deeply precious to me. Holding space for ourselves and each other to ask questions, contemplate new and old ideas, and explore our blocks, challenges, and openings offers a kind of personal and collective transformation that allows us to learn and teach simultaneously.
These offerings are an extension of our personal practice. By having a practice that we are committed to personally and communally, we can do, move, and be based on the roots of that practice. I believe in the power of community, and that being in community is necessary for my own spiritual growth and development as a human person.
