Lemon-Ginger-Honey Agni Boost Appetizer

This recipe makes a drinkable nectar that can be stored in the fridge for about 5 days. A blender or food processor is required in order to follow this recipe.

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped ginger root
  • 1/4 cup water
Contraindications: The agni boost appetizer listed here are quite heating, and should not be taken by people with excess pitta, an excessively sharp digestive fire, or anyone with symptoms of acid reflux, stomach ulcer, or other GI inflammation.

Preparation

1. Mix the lemon juice and honey together in a glass jar with a lid (to store for later) or a small bowl.
2. Using a blender or food processor, blend ginger and water into a fine pulp.
3. Strain the ginger/water mixture with a fine mesh strainer and/or cheese cloth, right into the honey and lemon.
4. Mix the lemon and honey with the ginger water until well blended. .
Instructions For Use:
Drink one ounce of the nectar 10-20 minutes before meals to ignite agni and stimulate digestion.
